- single round cutaway body, arched spruce top, maple back/sides, two f-holes, triple-bound top and back, maple neck, 21-fret bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid hump top and black/white/black slash block inlay, triple-bound black face headstock with slanted logo inlay and "Synchromatic"/tusk decoration, three-per-side gold tuners, adj. ebony stairstep bridge, "G" logo trapeze tailpiece, triple-bound raised pickguard, gold hardware, available in Natural (6041) or Sunburst (6040) finish, 18 in. body width, mfg. 1955-1970.
This model was introduced in 1955 as a custom order only. In 1959 or 1960, thumbprint fingerboard inlays replaced humptop inlays and the "Gretsch" logo replaced the "Synchromatic" logo. By 1968, Natural finish was disc.
