- carved spruce top, arched maple back, maple sides, two unbound f-holes, tortoiseshell binding on top and back, three-piece maple/rosewood neck, bound ebony fingerboard with pointed end and large block inlays, black plastic headstock veneer with scroll "Synchromatic" logo above (1946-1947) or below (1947-1949) the A- and B-string tuners, three-per-side tuners with metal buttons, stylized stairstep rosewood bridge, harp tailpiece, raised triple-bound pickguard, nickel hardware, available in Trans. Blonde finish, 16 in. body width, 24.5 in. scale, mfg. 1946-49.
The earliest models may have a trapeze tailpiece, only single-ply binding on the top and back, an unbound headstock, and a single-bound smaller pickguard.
