- arched spruce top, carved maple back, maple sides, two unbound f-holes, four-ply bound top and back, three-piece maple/rosewood neck, bound ebony fingerboard with pointed end and large block inlays, black plastic headstock veneer with scroll "Gretsch" logo across the top and large floral design, three-per-side tuners with metal buttons, stylized stairstep rosewood bridge, harp tailpiece, raised triple-bound pickguard, nickel hardware, available in Sunburst finish, 16 in. body width, 24.5 in. scale, mfg. 1939-1949.
The earliest models may have a trapeze tailpiece, only single-ply binding on the top and back, an unbound headstock, and a single-bound smaller pickguard.
