GRETSCH SYNCHROMATIC/CONSTELLATION 6030/6031 Description
- single round cutaway body, arched spruce top, laminated maple back and sides, two double bound f-holes, triple bound top and back, three-piece maple/rosewood neck, 19-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlay, bound black face rounded headstock with pearl logo "Synchromatic" inlay, three-per-side gold tuners, raised bound tortoise pickguard, adj. rosewood stairstep bridge, harp tailpiece, gold hardware, available in Natural (6031) or Sunburst (6030) finish, 17 in. body width, mfg. 1951-1960.
This model was originally released as the Synchromatic, and in 1955 it was changed to the Constellation. In 1955, hump top block fingerboard inlays, an ebony bridge, and a "G" logo trapeze tailpiece were introduced.
