GRETSCH CORSAIR (MODEL 6014/6015/6016) Description
- carved spruce top, arched maple back, maple sides, two f-holes, single binding on top and back, three-piece maple neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with large block, hump, or thumbnail inlays, bound headstock with three-per-side tuners, adj. rosewood bridge, "G" tailpiece, tan pickguard with no logo, available in Bordeaux Burgundy (6016), Natural (6015), or Sunburst (6014) finish, 16 in. body width, 24.5 in. scale, mfg. 1955-1960.
In 1957, hump block fingerboard inlays replaced the large block inlays. In 1959, a single cutaway body design, ebony bridge, and thumbprint fingerboard inlays were introduced.
