The earliest models (1958) have noticeably different pickups with three poles and one bar on each one, a bass/treble splitter, two knobs on the lower treble bout, one switch on the upper treble bout, and two switches on the upper bass bout. By 1959, the pickups looked identical to FilterTrons, but a different control layout was introduced with four switches on the upper bass bout. By 1965, a new control layout was introduced with two large plastic knobs and four switch knobs on the lower treble bout, one switch on the upper treble bout, one switch on the lower bass bout, and mute knobs on both sides of the bridge. In 1971, this model was renumbered 7595.
