- double round cutaway semi-hollow bound maple body, f-holes, maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, blackface peghead with logo, three-per-side tuners, raised black pickguard with logo, adj. bridge, "G" logo trapeze tailpiece (Model 7607/7608) or Gretsch Bigsby vibrato (Model 7603/7604), two Super 'Tron or humbucker pickups, four knobs on lower treble bout (two v, two tone), one knob on upper bass bout (MV), three-way pickup switch on upper bass bout, chrome hardware, available in Natural (Model 7603/7607), Red (Model 7609), or Sunburst (Model 7604/7608) finish, 16 in. body width, mfg. 1975-1980.
In 1976, a terminator bridge and tailpiece replaced the original bridge, and two covered humbucker DiMarzio pickups replaced Super 'Trons. In 1977, Red finish was introduced and Natural and Sunburst finishes were disc.
