- 15W, 1-10 in. speaker, guitar combo, various tube chassis, 1st version (1935-36): four tubes (1 X 6A6, power: 2 X 6F6, rectifier: 1 X 5Z4), 2nd version (1936-37): six tubes (1 X 6F5, 1 X 6N7, 1 X 6C5, power: 2 X 6N6, rectifier: 5Z3), 3rd version (1937-1941): seven tubes (3 X 6SQ7, 1 X 6N7, power: 2 X 6L6, rectifier: 5U4), 4th version (1941-42): seven tubes (3 X 6C5, 1 X 6F5, power: 2 X 6L6, rectifier: 5U4), rear control panel, three inputs (two instruments, one microphone), two volume controls, tone switch, echo speaker jack, square cabinet, aeroplane cloth covering, dark grille, mfg. 1935-1942.
The original model produced between late 1935 and early 1936 featured a cabinet with a gold/brown tweed covering with vertical orange and black stripes in the center, a leather suitcase-style handle, a removable back, alligator grained material on the inside, four rubber feet, and is 13.75 in. wide, 13.75 in. tall, and 7.25 in. deep.
In late 1936, the control panel consisted of this from left to right (power, echo input, mic v, pilot light, inst. v, three inputs (one mic, two inst.) and normal/bass tone toggle switch below the inputs), the chassis was changed to six tubes, and the cabinet sized changed to 15.25 in. wide, 14.75 in. tall, and 8 in. deep.
In early 1937, the chassis was increased to seven tubes and the cabinet was changed to 8.5 in. deep and a .75 in. thick front.
In mid-1937, the cabinet was changed where the sides rounded at the top, the speaker hole was changed to 10.625 in. round with a metal grille, the inside was covered with a black grained material, and the dimensions changed to 16.5 in. wide, 15.375 in. tall, 8.625 in. deep.
In mid-1941, the amp was changed one last time with a new control panel consisting of from left to right (power cord, power switch, tone control, mic v, inst. v, three inputs (one mic, two inst.), pilot light, model, and serial number), a speaker hole with a rounded front edge, inside covering of cream colored paper, and dimensions of 17.25 in. wide, 15.625 in. tall, and 9 in. deep. Two models in 1937 were finished in White and labeled Smeck in the lower right corner.
