MARTIN Style C Description
- rosewood back and sides, spruce top, ivory front and back binding, oval soundhole with colored purfling, pearl rosette, pickguard on treble side, fingerboard with snowflake inlays, engraved German silver tailpiece, ornamental headstock with hole and four-per-side nickel tuners, available in natural finish, mfg. 1914-1934.
In 1917, the top border was changed to abalone pearl. In 1919, the bindings were changed to celluloid. In 1923, the top border was changed back to a colored wood. In 1925, colored wood was featured in the top and back and an embossed tailpiece was introduced. The very last Style C produced in 1934, was built with maple.
