MARTIN Style B Description
- rosewood back and sides, spruce top, rosewood front and back binding, oval soundhole with Herringbone rosette/backstrip, pickguard on treble side with pointed end, ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, ebony bridge, nickel tailpiece, ornamental headstock with hole and four-per-side nickel tuners, ivory nut, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1914-1946, reintroduced 1981-87.
In 1917 the standard teardrop pickguard was introduced. In 1919, the front and back became bound with rosewood with a white holly inlay. When this model was reintroduced in 1980, it was renamed the Style A-3, but none were ever produced under that designation.
