- dreadnought body style, solid Sitka spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, round soundhole with Style 45 three-stripe abalone pearl rosette (5/9/5 grouping), grained ivoroid binding, abalone pearl with B/W/B boltaron top and side inlay, abalone pearl with B/W boltaron back inlay, Style 45 back purfling, select hardwood neck, 14/20-fret grained ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard with Style 45 select abalone pearl snowflake inlays, grained ivoroid-bound rosewood headstock overlay with abalone pearl vertical block Martin logo, three-per-side Gotoh gold open-geared tuners with butterbean knobs, vintage ebony belly bridge with drop-in long saddle, white bridge pins with abalone pearl dots, beveled tortoise pickguard, available in Natural or Sunburst polished gloss finish with Aging Toner top, 25.4 in. scale, mfg. 1997-2019.
The R was dropped from the D-45VR designation after 1998 and called the D-45V from 1999 to the present.
