- dreadnought body style, solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, round soundhole with old Style 18 three-stripe rosette (1/9/1 grouping), tortoise color binding, multiple-ply B/W boltaron top inlay, Style 18 back purfling, select hardwood neck, 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with old Style 18 pearl dot inlays, rosewood headstock overlay with raised gold foil logo, three-per-side Gotoh nickel open-geared tuners with butterbean knobs, vintage ebony belly bridge with drop-in long saddle, black bridge pins with white dots, beveled tortoise pickguard, Natural polished gloss finish with Aging Toner top, 25.4 in. scale, mfg. 1996-2011.
The M was dropped from the D-18VM designation after 1998 and called the D-18V from 1999 through 2011.
