- single round cutaway hollow maple body, spruce top, two double-bound f-holes, multiple-bound top, triple-bound back, maple neck, 21-fret multiplet-bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl humptop block inlays, bound black headstock with logo inlay, three-per-side Grover Imperial tuners with stairstep buttons, adj. rosewood bridge, G logo trapeze tailpiece, gold pickguard with logo, single exposed DeArmond pickup, two knobs mounted on pickguard (v, tone), gold hardware, available in Lotus Ivory top with Copper Mist back and sides (1955-1957), Bamboo Yellow with Copper Mist (1957-1958), or Sunburst (1958-1968) finish, 17 in. body width, mfg. 1955-1968.
In 1957, an ebony fingerboard with thumbnail inlays were introduced. In 1958, this model was renamed the Sal Salvador and a triple-bound top, triple-bound fingerboard, and a Filter'Tron pickup were introduced. In 1965, block fingerboard inlays were introduced and the knobs were mounted into the instrument's top.
