GIBSON Model A Description
- symmetrical body shape, various wood types, oval soundhole with colored rosette, 20-fret ebony fingerboard with dot inlay, paddle shape peghead, four-per-side tuners, available in Golden Orange or Brown finish, mfg. 1902-1933.
Circa 1905, a non-paddle headstock was introduced. By 1906, the top was single bound. By 1908, the pickguard was elevated and there was no logo on the peghead. In 1918, Brown finish became standard. In 1923, the snakehead-style peghead was introduced but was changed back to the standard design in 1928.
