- double rounded cutaway mahogany body based on the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway, set mahogany neck, 20/22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, black headstock overlay with Gibson logo and "Les Paul Model" inscription, three-per-side tuners, combination wrap-around bridge/tailpiece, multi-ply black pickguard, two black soapbar P-90 pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, nickel hardware, available in Heritage Cherry or TV Yellow finish, 24.75 in. scale, initially introduced as a limited edition run of 300 instruments but then put into standard production, mfg. 1993-95.
In 1998, this model was reintroduced as the Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cutaway (see Custom Shop listing.)
