- single round cutaway hollow body, bound arched solid spruce top, two bound f-holes, solid curly maple back and sides, three-piece walnut/maple neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays with abalone V wedges, bound headstock with pearl G shield logo/inlay, three-per-side Imperial tuners, adj. rosewood bridge, stylized trapeze tailpiece, bound tortoise pickguard, gold-plated hardware, available in Natural or Sunburst finish, 24.75 in. scale, mfg. circa 1956-1969.
In 1959, a five-piece maple/walnut neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridge were introduced. The Blonde version of this guitar was called the A-550 Stuart until 1960 and A-500B after 1960.
