GIBSON SG CLASSIC Description
- double sharp cutaway SG-style mahogany body inspired by the late 1960s SG Special, mahogany neck, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays, black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo, "Classic" engraved truss rod cover, three-per-side vintage tuners with white buttons, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, layered black pickguard, two P-90 pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, chrome hardware, gig bag included, available in Ebony Stain or Heritage Cherry finish, 24.75 in. scale, mfg. 1999-2001, 2003-07.
This model was discontinued by Gibson in 2001, but they reintroduced it in 2003 and sold it exclusively through Musician's Friend. It never appeared in any Gibson catalog or price list after 2001.
