GIBSON LES PAUL JUNIOR DOUBLE CUTAWAY (1958-1961) Description
- double rounded cutaway mahogany body, set mahogany neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, black headstock overlay with gold Gibson logo and "Les Paul Junior" silkscreened in yellow, three-per-side tuners with white oval plastic buttons (tuners are mounted on a closed-back strip), combination bar bridge/tailpiece, single-ply shell pickguard, single P-90 coil pickup, two knobs (v, tone), nickel hardware, available in Cherry finish, 13 in. wide, 17.25 in. long, 1.875 in. deep, 24.75 in. scale, approx. 7,900 shipped, mfg. 1958-1961.
When the Les Paul Junior changed body styles from a single cutaway to a double cutaway, they also changed the standard finish from Brown Sunburst to Cherry although a few Les Paul Juniors with double cutaways have been observed in Brown Sunburst and even rarer Ebony finish.
