GIBSON GA-20T/GA-20T Ranger Description
- similar to the GA-20/GA-20 Crest Second Version, except has a tremolo circuit with a seven-tube chassis, preamp: 1 X 12AY7, 1 X 7025, 1 X 5879, 1 X 6SQ7, power: 2 X 6V6, rectifier: 5Y3, five knobs (tone, s, v1, i, v2), available in two-tone Buffalo grain covering with a woven Saran grille and "Gibson 20T" logo centered above the grille (1956 only), two-tone Buffalo grain covering with a woven Saran grille and "Gibson" logo centered above the grille (1957-59), or tweed covering with a dark brown grille cloth (1960-61), 4,224 shipped, mfg. 1956-61.
Originally, this amp cabinet featured a two-tone brown covering with a rectangle brown speaker grille, the logo "Gibson 20T" above the grille, and dimensions of 20 in. wide, 16 in. tall, 8.625 in. deep, and 24 lbs. In 1958, the cabinet was changed slightly to a different two-tone brown covering, only the "Gibson" logo appeared on the front, and the dimensions changed to 20 in. wide, 16 in. tall, 9 in. deep, and 24 lbs. In 1960, the name Ranger was added to GA-20T and the cabinet changed again to a tweed covering with a brown grille and the "Gibson" logo in the upper right corner.
