GIBSON GA-6 LANCER Description
- 14W, 1-12 in. Jensen speaker, five-tube chassis: preamp: 2 X 12AX7, power: 2 X 6V6, rectifier: 5Y3, two channels, top control panel, four inputs (two per channel), three black chicken head knobs (tone, inst v, mic v), tweed covering, full face dark brown grille cloth, 821 shipped, mfg. 1960-61.
This amp was originally the BR-6 and in 1956 was renamed the GA-6. The original cabinet featured a mottled gray/brown covering and dimensions were 20 in. wide, and 11.25 in. tall. In 1958, the covering was changed to a dark brown, and the dimensions changed to 20 in. wide, 16 in. tall, 9 in. deep, and 24 lbs. In 1960, this model was renamed the GA-6 Lancer, the covering changed to a tweed with a Gibson logo in the upper right corner of the grille, and the power increased to 14W.
