In 1933, a rosewood fingerboard with four-point star inlays was intrdouced. In 1937, the Windsor two-point was discontinued, but was continued with a scroll style body in the Windsor Special.

In 1936, the Windsor Special was renamed the Windsor when the other Windsor was discontinued and featured flamed maple on the back and sides and no checkered inlays. In 1939 f-holes with the squared edges were introduced, the pickguard went around the bridge, the fingerboard was changed to rosewood with slotted-block inlays, and the headstock featured a vine inlay.
