NATIONAL GLENWOOD/GLENWOOD DELUXE (MODEL 1105) Description
- single rounded cutaway, fully bound body, white plastic backplate, 2 metal covered pickups, black pickguard, bound fingerboard with diamond enclosed in block inlays, 6 knobs on bass side, single switch on treble side, 3-per-side tuners, gold hardware, 12.25 in. wide body, available in Natural finish with black back and sides, mfg. 1954-1961.
In 1957, a small script peghead logo was placed above the National shield and plastic butterfly tuners replaced the metal ones. In 1958, this model was renamed the Glenwood Deluxe and the body size was increased to 13 5/8 in., another knob was added to the treble side, metal tuners were reintroduced, and a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece was introduced.
