NATIONAL STYLE 97 Description
- nickel plated brass body, mahogany neck (maple neck on Hawaiian), ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, black and white celluloid peghead overlay, available in a Sandblasted Scene of a female surfer, colored with airbrushed enamel, mfg. 1936-1940.
Tenor and plectrum models feature maple necks, single resonator cone. The Style 97 is extremely rare. The Hawaiian featured an ebonoid fingerboard. The Hawaiian models tend to price closer to their Spanish sisters, because they are convertible.
