- concert body style, solid spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, round soundhole with three-ring rosette (5/9/5 grouping), ivory (1898-1918), ivoroid (1918-1931, 1937), or non-grained white (1969 only) binding, herringbone (1898-1931, 1937) or six-ply with white outer layer (1969) purfling, cedar (1898-1916) or mahogany (1916-1931, 1937, 1969) neck, 12/19-fret ebony fingerboard with no inlays (1898-1901), slotted diamond inlays (1901-1931, 1937) or pearl dot inlays (1969), slotted headstock, three-per-side brass tuners with ivory buttons, pyramid ebony bridge, ebony bridge pins with pearl dots, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1898-1931, 1937, 1969.
Martin also produced one 0-28 with electronics (Model 0-28E, 1963 only), two 0-28s in Hawaiian configuration (Model 0-28H, 1928 only), two 0-28s with wide necks (Model 0-28NY, 1968-69), and one 0-28 in plectrum configuration (Model 0-28P, 1930 only).
