- single cutaway alder, maple, or mahogany body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, arrow-shaped headstock with black overlay and pearl Gibson logo, three-per-side tuners, wide travel tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, three-ply black pickguard, three single coil bar pickups, two knobs (v, tone), four-way rotary pickup and phase selector switch, bypass switch (1978-1980), chrome hardware, available in Ebony, Natural Mahogany, Natural Satin, Tobacco Sunburst, Walnut, or Wine Red finish, 24.75 in. scale, case included, mfg. 1975-1980.
In 1978, black pickup covers were introduced and the circuitry was rewired to allow the bridge pickup to be used by itself.
