Originally, the covering on this amp was a medium brown with a light brown rectangle grille cloth and a "Gibson" logo in the center. In 1956, the chassis was moved to to the top, the cabinet changed to a two-tone brown covering with a rectangle brown speaker grille, the logo "Gibson 30" was placed above the grille, and dimensions were 22 in. wide, 20 in. tall, 10.175 in. deep, and 32 lbs. In 1958, the cabinet was changed slightly to a different two-tone brown covering, only the "Gibson" logo appeared on the front, and a metal handle with plastic middle replaced the leather one. In 1960, the name Invader was added to GA-30, a standby pointer knob was added, and the cabinet changed again to a tweed covering with a brown grille and the "Gibson" logo in the upper right corner.
