FENDER SUPER REVERB (SILVERFACE) Description
- 40W, 4-10 in. speakers, tube chassis, preamp:4 X 7025, 2 X 12AT7, power: 2 X 6L6GC, two channels, tremolo, reverb, silverface control panel, four inputs (two normal, two vibrato), 10 silver-top knobs (Norm: v, t, b, Vibrato: v, t, m, b, r, s, i), two bright switches (one per channel), black tolex covering, silver grille, mfg. 1968-1980.
The Silverface was introduced as the Model AB568. In 1969, Model AA1069 was introduced. In 1970, the output was raised to 45W. In 1976, a master volume knob and distortion switch was added. In the late 1970s, some models may appear with a mid control in the normal channel. Silver Reverbs come in three different control layouts. The first has 10 knobs, which is listed in the above description. The second features an added Master Volume knob for a total of 11 knobs. The third version has both a Master Volume and a mid control in the Normal channel for a total of 12 knobs.
