FENDER DUAL PROFESSIONAL (SUPER) Description
- 16W, 2-10 in. Jensen speakers, tube chassis, preamp: 3 X 6SJ7, power: 2 X 6L6, 5U4 rectifier, top numbered control panel, four inputs (two instruments, one mic, one lo-gain), three pointer knobs (mic v, inst. v, tone), fuse holder, and red pilot light, V-front cabinet, early tweed covering, dark brown grille with vertical chrome strip in middle, mfg. 1946-1952.
This amp was renamed the Super in 1947, and the 3 X 6SJ7 preamp tubes were changed to 3 X 6SC7. The tubes are converted over to 12AX7 and 12AY7 as soon as they were available (Model 5C4). A TV front Super was never made. In 1952, the V front is taken away, There are some Super amplifiers of this time with 6V6 tubes. The Dual Professional was the first two-speaker amp for Fender.
