This model is similar to the De Luxe Archtop, except in a flattop configuration.

- 00-style, mahogany top, round soundhole, tortoiseshell pickguard, mahogany back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, rosewood bridge with white pins, three-per-side tuners with plastic buttons, available in Natural finish, 14.5 in. body width, mfg. 1941-49, 1958-1970.
The FT 30 was renamed the Caballero by Gibson in 1958. In 1958, tortoise pickguard with logo was introduced. In 1961, non-logo pickguard replaced original part/design. In 1963, adjustable saddle replaced original part/design.

The FT 45 was renamed the Cortez by Gibson in 1958, mfg. 1958 to 1970. In 1962, Natural finish with adjustable bridge became an option.

In 1949, a new jumbo body style was introduced. In 1954, curly maple back/sides replaced original part/design. The FT 79 was renamed the Texan by Gibson in 1958, mfg. 1958-1970.
