EPIPHONE FT 79 (TEXAN) Description
- dreadnought style, spruce top, walnut back/sides, cherry neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with parallelogram inlay, rosewood bridge, three-per-side open back tuners, available in Natural and Sunburst finish, 16.5 in. body width, mfg. 1941-1970.
In 1949, a new jumbo body style was introduced. In 1954, curly maple back/sides replaced original part/design. The FT 79 was renamed the Texan by Gibson in 1958, mfg. 1958-1970.
