- similar to the MK-IIA and MK-IIB, except has quieter channel switching and a quieter reverb circuit (MK-IIC) and a more sensitive lead channel and improved effects loop (MK-IIC+), serial numbers 11,001-14,999, mfg. 1983-85.
The Mark IIC+ is widely considered to be Mesa's best sounding Mark amp and is the most collectible. While the MK-IIC and MK-IIC+ look identical on the outside, the difference between the two can be determined by a "+" hand-written in black above the power cord input on the rear panel for the MK-IIC+. Since this is such an easy forgery by someone simply putting this "+" on their MK-IIC themselves, we recommend contacting Mesa/Boogie directly to confirm the exact model of your amp. Mesa built about 1,400 MK-IIC amps before switching to the MK-IIC+, meaning serial numbers over approximately 12,401 are the MK-IIC+ models.
