- dreadnought body style, solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, round soundhole with abalone pearl rosette, tortoise color body binding, Style 45 mosaic back inlay strip, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone square and diamond inlays, three-per-side gold tuners, rosewood bridge with two abalone diamond inlays, tortoise pickguard, Natural gloss with Aging Toner top finish, mfg. 1997-2000.
In 1998, the "T" was dropped from the model name and it was called the SPD-16 from 1998 on.
