MARTIN #25 (MODEL 2-17 THIRD VERSION) Description
- Size 2 body, mahogany top, back, and sides, round soundhole with three thin B/W/B rings rosette, no body binding, rosewood fingerboard with two dot inlays at the 7th fret, rectangular bridge, available in Natural finish, total production of 775 instruments, mfg. 1929-1930.
This is actually the third version of the Model 2-17 although it was referred to as the #25. This designation comes from Martin dropping the price $25 from the previous Model 2-17 by eliminating the body bindings. In 1930, this model was reinstated as the Model 2-17.
