MAGNATONE MODEL M197-3-V VARSITY Description
- 10W, 1-8 in. speaker, tube chassis, preamp: 6SJ7, power: 6V6, 5Y3 rectifier, single channel, rear control panel mounted on the bottom, two inputs, single volume control, brown or other covering, brown or other color grille with three separate panels, mfg. 1947-mid 1950s.
This amp came in many variations with all of them having the same chassis. Some grilles were an ordinary square and some had two semi-circle bars splitting the grille into three pieces. Another variation is the Lelani model, which features a Hawaii style grille cloth and was teamed up with the Magnatone Lap Steel.
