- reverse offset hourglass Explorer-style mahogany body, mahogany Explorer rounded neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with small black block inlays at the 5th and 12th frets, Ted McCarty designed Moderne "Gumby"-style headstock with gold cursive Gibson logo, six-on-the-other-side Steinberger gearless tuners, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, lightning bolt carbon fiber pickguard, two '57 Classic covered humbuckers, three gold numbered speed knobs (two v, tone), three-way pickup switch on the upper bass bout, gold hardware, available in Antique Walnut finish, 24.75 in. scale, black reptile pattern hardshell case with white plush interior included, limited edition run of 1,000 instruments, mfg. 2008 only.

This was the September 2008 Guitar of the Month.
