GIBSON J-45 REISSUE/STANDARD (MODEL RS45/RS4S) Description
- slope (round) shouldered dreadnought style, solid Sitka spruce top, round soundhole, white body binding, mahogany back/sides, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlay, vintage-style rosewood reverse belly bridge, white bridgepins, blackface peghead with logo inlay, three-per-side vintage-style nickel tuners, teardrop-shaped black pickguard, available in Antique Natural, Vintage Cherry Sunburst (disc. 2003), or Vintage Sunburst, mfg. 1984-2019.
Beginning in 1984, the J-45 Reissue was available in Ebony, Natural and Sunburst finishes. When the model was re-designated the Early J-45, the finish was changed to a Vintage Sunburst finish. Beginning 1999, model nomenclature was again changed back to the J-45, and a transducer pickup was added as standard equipment. Recent finishes include Antique Natural (Bubinga), Cherry, Ebony, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Pre-War Vintage Sunburst, and Triburst. In 2009, this model was upgraded and improved.
