GIBSON FLYING V HERITAGE KORINA (1981-84 MFG.) Description
- V-shaped korina body with rubber strip on underside of the treble wing, three-piece korina neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, pointed headstock with raised "Gibson" logo and three-per-side tuners with plastic single ring buttons, tune-o-matic bridge, STB, V-shaped metal plate tailpiece, layered white or black pickguard, two humbucker PAF reissue pickups, three knobs (two v, master tone) in a straight line, three-way pickup switch, gold hardware, available in Antique Natural, Candy Apple Red, Ebony, or White finish, mfg. 1981-84.
The Flying V Heritage Korina was Gibson's first attempt at reissuing the original Korina Flying V. Serial numbers for this model consist of the letter A followed by three digits. It is estimated that only 1,000 instruments were produced between 1983 and 1984.
