- symmetrical double cutaway ES-335 semi-hollow-style body, curly maple top, back, and sides, no f-holes, single-ply top and back binding, three-piece maple neck with black finish on the back of the headstock that tapers to a point, 22-fret bound ebony fingerboard with large pearl block inlays, bound headstock with pearl crown inlay and logo, three-per-side tuners, tune-o-matic bridge, TP-6 fine-tune tailpiece, raised bound black pickguard, three black soapbar P-90 pickups or P-90 pickups with humbucker covers, four knobs (three v, tone), three-way pickup switch, mini switch for the middle pickup, jack on the face of the guitar, gold hardware, available in Natural finish, 2 in. body depth, 24.75 in. scale, mfg. 1983-84.
Extreme rarity precludes accurate pricing. This model is also referred to as the Mitch Holder model. Seven of these instruments were produced in the Kalamazoo Custom Shop before Gibson moved all production to the Nashville facility. A few models were then produced in Nashville, but total production is unknown.
