FENDER PRO AMP (NARROW PANEL) Description
- 26W, 1-15 in. Jensen, tube chassis, preamp: 2 X 12AY7, 12AX7, power: 2 X 6L6, 5U4G rectifier, top control panel, four inputs, (two inst., two mic), three pointer knobs (mic. v, inst. v, tone), ground switch added to panel, negative feedback removed, diagonal tweed covering, brown tweed-era grille, mfg. 1954-1960.
Circa 1955/56, the choke was removed (Model 5C5). A standby switch was added for Model 5D5. Model 5E5 had the negative feedback loop removed, and 5E5-A had a fixed bias supply. The circuitry in this model was still linked with earlier models. In 1956, bass, treble, and presence controls were added. In 1957, a new nameplate was introduced.
