ERNIE BALL/MUSIC MAN STERLING BASS (MODEL 170) Description

- offset double cutaway ash body, pickguard, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple or rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, fixed bridge, 3/1 per side Schaller tuners, chrome hardware, single humbucker, dual humbucker, or single coil/humbucker pickup configuration, four knobs (v, t, m, b), 3-way selector switch, active electronics, available in various color finishes, 34 in. scale, mfg. 1994-present.

This model had an optional fretless pau ferro fingerboard (with or without inlaid fretlines). The 3-way selector switch has three different pickup selections: both coils, series; single coil; both coils, parallel. In 2005, additional pickup configurations were introduced: HH and HS.
