- 15.5 in. body width, carved spruce top, f-holes, raised black pickguard, bound body, walnut back/sides, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl diamond inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/trapeze tailpiece, bound peghead with pearl Masterbilt banner/logo inlay, three-per-side nickel tuners, available in Blonde or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1931-1958.
In 1933, the body was changed to 16.375 in. width and laminated maple back and sides were introduced with a single bound top and back. In 1934, solid maple back/sides, unbound peghead with pearl fleur-de-lis/logo inlay replaced original part/designs; carved back added to design. In 1935, redesigned script peghead logo replaced original part/design. In 1936, the body was changed to 17.375 in. width, cello f-holes with squared edges, triple bound top, single bound back, bound peghead, bound pickguard, and flat tailpiece were introduced. In 1937, Frequensator tailpiece and center dip headstock were introduced. In 1941, Blonde finish was optional. In 1947, redesigned pickguard with stylized E, column peghead inlay replaced original part/designs. In 1950, f-holes with painted corners were introduced. For historical interest, this instrument originally sold for $125.
