- offset double cutaway Strat-style hardwood body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays or rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays, matching finish headstock, six-on-one-side tuners, Fulcrum vibrato, black pickguard with black plastic parts or white pickguard with white plastic parts, three single coil pickups, three knobs (two v, tone), five-way pickup switch, chrome hardware, available in Black, Black Metallic, Nuclear Yellow, Pearl White, Red, Red Metallic, Seafoam Green, Silver Metallic, Tobacco Sunburst, Vintage White, or White finish, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. 1986-1999.
Between 1986 and the late 1980s and early 1990s, a straight headstock and white pickguard with white plastic parts were standard. By the late 1980s or early 1990s, a hockey stick-style headstock and a black pickguard with black plastic parts became standard. In 1997, the S-310 was redesigned with a headstock that is closer in design to a Strat and a white pickguard with white plastic parts were reintroduced.
