- 18W, 1-12 in. GE Alnico V speaker, five-tube chassis, preamp: 2 X 6BG6 power: 2 X 6SN7, rectifier: 5U4, top control panel, three "chicken head" knobs (v, b, t), all controls on the panel, a sensitivity control, brown cocoa vinyl covering, brown grille with Ampeg logo silk-screened onto it, mfg. 1949-1951.
The chassis on the Model 800 Super Bassman was mounted on the bottom and speedometer cables ran between the chassis and control panel instead of wires to change the volume, bass, and treble settings.
