Applause guitars were originally introduced to be the entry level to the Ovation line. They were first produced in Connecticut until 1979 when production moved overseas begninning in 1980. Mandolins were introduced in 1994. Applause now has a full line of acoustic, acoustic-electric, mandolin, and ukulele models. They have the same bowl-back style that Ovation has made famous.
Instruments currently manufactured in Korea since 1980. Distributed by KMC Music in Bloomfield, CT. Applause guitars were originally produced in New Hartford, CT between 1975 and 1979.
