This model is known as an amp-in-case model because the case came fitted with a 3-watt amplifier and a 5-inch speaker. In 1964, a 6-inch speaker replaced the 5-inch speaker. In 1964, metal "skate-key" tuners replaced the tuners with plastic buttons.

These models were only available through the Sears Christmas catalog. Although they were no longer listed in the Christmas Catalog after 1960, the existence of post-1960 models indicates that they were still being manufactured and sold at Sears stores through at least 1961, probably to use up existing stock.
