ACOUSTIC: B SERIES

Several tops of the B Series guitars have cracked and been repaired. The values in this section reflect guitars in original uncracked condition. Values will be impacted negatively based on the amount of cracks and the condition and overall quality of the repairs.

- small body, spruce top, mahogany back, laminated mahogany sides, round soundhole with single ring rosette, three-ply top body binding, single-ply back binding, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, blackface headstock overlay (1962-69) or no overlay (1970-77) with decal logo, three-per-side nickel tuners with plastic buttons, rosewood bridge (1962-63, circa 1969-1977) or plastic bridge (1963-1968) with adjustable saddle (1962-69) and white pins, long tortoise pickguard, available in Cherry Sunburst (B-25) or Natural (B-25N) finish, 14.25 in. body width, 24.75 in. scale, mfg. 1962-1977.
From 1962 to 1968 the bridge featured an upper belly and in 1969 it was changed to a lower belly. In 1972, a black outer layer was added to the body binding.

- spruce top, round soundhole, tortoiseshell pickguard, bound body/rosette, mahogany back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, reverse belly rosewood bridge with white pins, blackface peghead with decal logo, six-per-side tuners with plastic buttons, available in Cherry Sunburst and Natural finishes, mfg. 1962-1977.
In 1963, strings-through-bridge replaced the original design, with no bridge pins. In 1965, the redesigned reverse bridge replaced the previous design, and a trapeze tailpiece added. In 1970, a standard bridge with white pins replaced the previous design, there was no trapeze tailpiece, and the Cherry Sunburst finish was discontinued.

- slope shouldered large body, spruce top, round soundhole, tortoise pickguard, two-stripe bound body/rosette, mahogany back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, rosewood bridge with adjustable saddle, trapeze tailpiece, blackface peghead with pearl split diamond inlay/logo decal, six-per-side nickel tuners with plastic buttons, available in Tobacco Sunburst, Natural and Cherry Sunburst finish, 16 in. wide body, mfg. 1961-1979.
In 1962, reverse belly bridge with pins, adjustable saddle replaced original part/design. In 1964, string through reverse belly bridge replaced previous part/design, Natural finish (Model B-45-12 N) became an option. In 1965, rectangular bridge/trapeze tailpiece replaced previous part/design. In 1970, redesigned pickguard, 12/20-fret fingerboard, standard bridge with pins, Tobacco Sunburst finish became an option.
