- symmetrical double cutaway semihollow ES-335-style body, arched flamed sycamore top, back, and sides (early models) or maple top, back, and sides (1997-present), two bound f-holes, multi-ply body binding, set maple neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl split block inlays, bound headstock with black overlay and pearl diamond/W/logo inlay, three-per-side Grover tuners, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, raised black pickguard, two covered humbucker Washburn pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, chrome hardware, available in Black (2012-present), Natural, Tobacco Sunburst (disc. 2000, reintroduced 2012-present), White (2012-present), or Wine Red finish, mfg. 1983-84, 1989-present.
The first models (1983-84) have exposed coil humbucker pickups, dot inlays, STB, and chrome hardware. Another version was released in 1989 with covered pickups, block inlays, standard stop tailpiece, tune-o-matic bridge, and gold hardware. The third version introduced in 1990 featured pearl split block fingerboard inlays, an unbound pickguard, a wider, more elaborate headstock, and the selector switch was moved to the upper side of the bass bout. In 1993, flamed sycamore became an option and standard in 1994. In 1997, Maple top/back/sides replaced sycamore. In 2002, Buzz Feiten Tuning System was introduced.
