- offset double cutaway eastern flame maple body, neck-through body maple/purpleheart five-piece neck, 24-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl oval inlay, Schaller fixed brass bridge, graphlon nut, 3/2-per-side tuners, gold hardware, two Super Ferrite humbucker pickups, volume/blend controls, treble/mid/bass controls, bypass mini-toggle, 3-band active electronics, available in Honey Sunburst, Trans. Black, Trans. Blue, Trans. Emerald, Trans. Red, or Trans. Violet finish, mfg. 1988-1998.
In 1991, the VFL humbuckers were introduced. In 1994, the Transparent Violet finish was disc.
