- offset double cutaway alder body, maple neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, fixed bridge, graphlon nut, 4-on-a-side tuners, black hardware, 2 humbucker pickups, 2 volume/tone/mix controls, bypass switch, available in Pearl White finish, mfg. 1992-93.
Basic concept and MIDI controller design by Australian bassist and electrical engineering student Steve Chick. Chick began working on a bass synthesizer in his spare time in 1982, put out his own MB4 retrofit system during the mid-1980s, and began working with the Peavey corporation in 1991. In early 1994, the MidiBass name was changed to Cyberbass (See Cyberbass).
