MARTIN KINGSTON TRIO SET (1997) Description
- Martin introduced a three-piece set including a guitar, tenor guitar, and banjo to commemorate the 40 Year Anniversary of the Kingston Trio. The three-piece set includes a custom D-28 guitar, an 0-18T tenor guitar, and a Vega Long-Neck Folk Model banjo. These instruments are a limited edition of 40 sets and each instrument contains a label signed by CFM IV, Bob Shane, Nick Reynolds, George Grove, and John Stewart. Martin also announced that an unspecified number of the D-28 guitars (named the D-28KT) would be released in addition to the 40 intial sets although none were ever constructed or prototyped. Vega Banjo: constructed by the Deering Banjo Company, ebony fingerboard with MOP dot inlays and fifth fret "The Kingston Trio, 1957-1997" inlays, nickel-plated hardware.
